Once the storm has passed, emergency crews were using FASTANK®s, made in Antrim NI, to assist clean up the oil pollution.

Due to the depth of flood water a lot of oil tanks had floated off their bases, sheared connecting pipes and spilled tank contents.  Houston has a lot of oil refineries and pipelines so the problem is big.

After humanitarian aid and restoring power supplies, there are many environmental problems, which are less news worthy, but greatly impact communities over a longer period.

Spilled oil is collected from the water surface and placed in the FASTANK where it separates from surplus water before being recycled.
